Oceanic Delight

I started this project July of 2021. I was making significant progress and then I hit the proverbial imaginative brick wall. So, as I have always done. I set it aside in hopes of some day finishing it. The inspiration for this piece was actual the result of an exchange of ideas with a Jacksonville friend of mine. She suggested that I take on a painting that would break the boundaries of what I have done previously. So here ya go. There are several more layers and details to add. I want the wave to really pop out of the painting.

420 at the Watertower

I started this project April of 2022. I still remember thinking, my goodness windows are relentless. This is a well known Chicago Landmark that has always been a favorite of mine. The Chicago Watertower Monument is located at 835 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60611-2203.

I have a lot of fond memories walking Michigan Avenue, but the WaterTower was a symbol of truly being downtown. This was well before the Bean existed as a Sculpture in Millennium Park. Between the WaterTower, the Art Museum, and Wrigleyville there are so many areas of Chicago just waiting to be explored.

My hope is to get back to this piece. Would really enjoy seeing this one hanging on the wall next to my other pieces.

Untitled

I started this project September of 2023. It was a piece to kick start imagination, my creativity, mostly my inspiration to continue to paint. As you can see I got a really good start on it. The rest of 2023 unfortunately required more of my time. So much has happened since that time. My younger brother unfortunately passed away in December. As you can imagine I have not painted since that time. I have just had to many thoughts weighing on my brain, so much so that the inspiration is fleeting at best.

What do they say, time heals all wounds. Well maybe it just numbs them a bit. Either way, some day I will get back to this one too. Who knows, maybe I will even come up with a title to it.
